The Christians that baffle me the most are the ones who lay out excellent arguments against faith, yet continue to believe anyway.

Just Thinking Out Loud

In one of his books, pastor Gregory Boyd lays out an outstanding argument against faith - pointing out that thinking really hard that God is going to do something is an absurd way to do things, as if belief that XYZ will happen makes XYZ actually happen. It's one of the best books I've ever read against faith.

Yet.....he continues to be a pastor, and his book's message is ultimately still "we need to somehow still trust in God anyway."

I know other Christians who are the same - they lay out superb arguments against God, but still remain Christian anyway. How do they do it?
