I really love BO3’s campaign but it bothers that it all happens in the main characters head

So is it ok I just pretend that the player character doesn’t actually die in mission two and that all the events did happen like in any other campaign and they don’t take place in the character‘s head, ever since I learnt that, it’s almost ruined it for me
