Application Refused

“Insufficient proof of financial status; The client has provided financial documents. Tuition cost is
$44,000 - $52,000 per year. Client received an award of $32,500 - to be dispersed over 4 years,
$10,000 in 1st year and $7500 over year 2-4. Brings down cost of tuition to $34,000 - $42,000 for
first year. Client's parent's account shows a balance of about $69,940.

Client's father earns
20,000 AED/month or about $7712 CDN/month. No proof of funds from the client's mother who
is declared as a business owner - but no proof.

No GIC on file and only the proof of $2000 non-refundable tuition deposit provided.

Client's father's account showed a negative balance until a bonds redemption deposit which is used as
proof of funds for duration of study.

After reviewing the bank/financial documents, I am not satisfied that the client has sufficient
finances readily available to fully cover their tuition and living expenses while studying in Canada.

Therefore, I am not satisfied that the applicant meets the requirements of the Act and/or the
Regulations, and would depart Canada at the end of authorized stay. Application refused.”

I was refused on the basis of the insufficient Funds/Resources. My Tuition is 37,535 after the award is deducted, but the LOA says 34,000 to 42,000.

The negative balance that the officer talked about was a liability that was cleared, and the final bank statement was 69,940.

If I was to pay all of my first year tuition fee, would that help my case? Any help is much appreciated. FYI, McMaster Undergraduate 1st Year.
