Controllers and steam machine

For anyone who has their machine already, I got on the list for no controller 512GB. I figured since I have an Xbox controller and 2 PlayStation controllers I can wait for a steam controller in the future if I want one. Can you use an Xbox controller to wake the system?
I’m coming from console where I just hold down the PS button and it turns on the PlayStation.
I have a PC now and it’s kinda a headache to turn it on, log in, open big picture and then use controller.
