Sailor Mercury has been by far the most challenging character to design. Because of it, this sheet has walls and walls of text.

Ami is the smart one, the clever fighter who might not be great at first sight, but with the right knowledge check she is unstoppable. Because I wanted her to be extremely technical, it make it very difficult to design (because I am not, in fact, smart or technical).

Her key mechanic is Analyze. She enters an animation in which the visor icon starts filling up. If she is hit before the entire level is filled, it resets back to the latest full level. She needs the analyze levels to unlock her better moves (her clone moves have more clones the more levels she has, her shaboon spray gets upgraded all the way to double freeze, etc.)

Her reversal is also unique. Unlike a regular counter, Ami has to act AFTER she becomes untouchable with her Mirage. (Originally I wanted this animation to be like ser self-bubble in the end of S1, but i ended up using that for Aqua Mist)

Speaking of Aqua Mist, this non-damaging attack creates a puff of smoke that blocks visibility in an area. This can be used on top of a knocked down enemy to make the wakeup scary (is Mercury biding her time? Frame trapping me? Hitting high or low? Grabbing!?) or it can be use to distract an enemy and go for an analysis charge, or if the enemy thinks you are going for the analysis, you might go for a projectile and punish them!

All her projectiles trap. The regular bubbles are like the Snow Kaguya movie where they squeeze the snow dancer, and beyond that they freeze the enemy (which lasts longer)

Mobility wise she would be surprisingly quick and nimble, but no airdash. She's mostly a ground mover.
