Looking for a doctor who looks at the whole picture (obesity medicine/endocrinology?)

Question :snoo_thoughtful:

I’m hoping to get some recommendations from people who have found a doctor that really takes a comprehensive approach to weight management.
For context, I’ve struggled with obesity since childhood. I’ve made a lot of lifestyle changes, and I’m currently working on my health with regular exercise, nutrition, and GLP-1 treatment. While I’ve made progress, I feel like my appointments often focus only on my weight or medication, and I leave feeling like the bigger picture isn’t being addressed.
I have hypothyroidism, high cholesterol, a history of insulin resistance/prediabetes (currently controlled), and POTS. I’m wondering if there are other metabolic or endocrine factors worth evaluating, or if my thyroid treatment is truly optimized. I’m not looking for someone to order unnecessary hormone tests—I just want a physician who is willing to look at my overall health and determine if anything is being missed.
I’m looking for a doctor who:
Is knowledgeable about obesity medicine and/or endocrinology
Treats obesity as a chronic medical condition, not just “eat less and exercise more”
Looks at the whole picture, including thyroid health, metabolic health, medications, and lifestyle
Takes time to listen and explain things instead of rushing through appointments
Is comfortable managing GLP-1 medications as part of a long-term treatment plan
I’m located in Michigan but I’m open to telemedicine anywhere in the U.S. as long as the physician is licensed to see patients in Michigan. Cigna insurance is a bonus, but I’d also love to hear about outstanding doctors even if they’re out-of-network.
If you’ve had a great experience with a physician like this, I’d really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you!
