Turning 23 soon and feeling completely forgotten. How do you cope with never being celebrated?

Amazon Wishlist

For the last 23 years, I have never truly had a real birthday celebration. Every single year, I just sit back from the sidelines and watch other people get celebrated, receive beautiful gifts, and experience the kind of birthday magic I’ve always secretly wished for myself. It gets so deeply lonely watching everyone else be happy while I feel completely invisible.Books and anime have been the only things keeping me company through the isolation. People in my life have called me weird just because I love reading and escaping into these worlds, but those stories are the only reason I don't feel entirely alone. I’ve fallen in love with the anime and gaming cosplay community especially the cosplayers who dress up as that amazing game character with the split black and white hair. I don't even remember the game's name anymore, but seeing them brings me so much joy. My biggest dream is to one day have enough to buy my very own cosplay outfit and finally feel like I belong somewhere.I’m turning 23 soon, and the sadness is hitting me harder than ever because I don't have anyone around to care. I am absolutely not forcing or expecting anyone to buy me anything honestly, just having you take a moment out of your day to read my story is a bigger gift than I usually get. But I did build up the courage to share my wishlist right here in my Reddit profile links, just in case someone out there wanted to send a little birthday kindness to a weird kid who just wants to feel seen for once. How do you cope with feeling completely forgotten on your birthday? What are some small ways I can make the day special for myself when I'm completely alone? I just really need some comfort right now. Thank you for reading. ❤️
