GALLEON DREAMING: An Anthology of Dark Fiction from the Philippine Diaspora, Kickstarter Fully Funded

Hello everyone, this is a quick note to give updates on the path to production for our inaugural anthology, GALLEON DREAMING. We are in the midst of seeking community members who would like to participate in our cover reveal, scheduled for October 2027.

The cover is by Legazpi-based artist Raf Banzuela.

Here is some background information:

------------

The inaugural anthology from DILIM Press highlights work from twenty-five global Pinoy authors

Inspired by the time of the galleons, spanning centuries and locations, stories and poems contributed by Filipinos around the world delve into fear, darkness, and the unknown.

Read stories of mystery, horror, psychological suspense, the macabre, and re-tellings of mythology, all presented in the rich storytelling tradition of the Philippines.

Debut, emerging, and established authors from the Philippines, the United States, Canada, Cuba, Europe, and the United Kingdom contributed pieces: from folklore retold to modern thrillers, from supernatural and ghostly apparitions to explorations of the human psyche’s depth, and in locations as far-flung as half-remembered villas, to a possible future archipelago, to outer space.

Introduced by Monica T. S. Flores with a cover illustration by Raf Banzuela,  the collection celebrates the wholly unique and undeniably original work coming out of the Filipino diaspora.

CONTENT WARNING: The stories contain descriptions of violence & mature themes including colonization, harm, mental and emotional health issues, death, injuries, and explorations of identity and societal issues. Reader discretion is advised.
