What should I do about this?

I have a room/area in my house where my cats stay, but my mother is thinking of renting it out. My cats love to bolt out the door and run outside. (they are indoor strictly). How do I get her to not rent it out/improvise/compromise? I’m really scared for them and think they might not come back once they leave.
