Thinking of Switching to Rhino - Is it right for me?
hi!
FreeCad user here. I have learnt the basics, and I feel I've hit the ceiling with FreeCad for what I'm trying to achieve (watch case design).
In FreeCad I can achieve some complex/organic designs but it often translates in dozens of operations to just get something that isn't your standard revolved profile or added pipe/loft and still I feel very limited by what the software can do.
I did try Rhino 8 and thought was great (although I initially struggled to get on with the onsap features), but my worry is...
Most people I see in the watch industry design seem to rely on Solidworks/Fusion 360 but I don't particularly like the idea of a cloud base software.
At the same time, working with a parametric flow is very important (I have seen grasshopper) but seems a bit convoluted...
Therefore, Is Rhino 8 the right product for me?
I know posting here might produce some biased opinions, but I thought would be better to ask to whom know Rhino best first.
