I made a small app to convert Ultra HDR photos to SDR on my Motorola Edge 60 Pro
Hi everyone,
I have a Motorola Edge 60 Pro, and one thing that bothers me is how Ultra HDR photos look in Google Photos. Some shots look fine, but others get way too bright or too saturated, and sometimes I just want a normal version of the photo to share or use elsewhere.
So I made a small Android app called UltraHDROff. It detects Ultra HDR photos and creates a standard SDR copy, while keeping the original photo untouched. It doesn’t disable Ultra HDR in the camera app; it just gives you a regular SDR copy when you need one.
I’m still testing it, so I’d really appreciate feedback from other Motorola users, especially about:
- whether the app detects your Ultra HDR photos correctly
- whether the SDR copy looks natural
- whether the copy appears correctly in your gallery
- any crashes, permission issues, or confusing steps
The app is still in closed testing on Google Play. To install it:
- Join the Google Group:

- Join the Google Play test:

- Install the app - Google Play link:

Please use the same Google account for both the Google Group and Google Play.
I’m not asking for ratings or reviews, just honest feedback from Motorola users.
Thanks!
