Picture: strawberry sundae I had a couple weeks ago. Im not hungry right now :(

I love my fiancé to death and 95% of the time he is the kindest, most loving person on Earth without a mean bone in his body.

But... he is bipolar. And we live in the US. Treatment can be extremely expensive and difficult to maintain. Today we found out that his meds are going to be $120 for a 3 month supply on his new insurance. Its not an unmanageable amount of money but its more than the insurance told us it was going to cost, and its still a lot in general. $40 a month is a lot of money just to feel okay.

My fiancé is very politically involved and takes these things very personally. A close friend of his passed away because he couldn't afford his medications and it had a lasting effect on my fiancé.

And I dont disagree with him; he has every right to be pissed about this. But... I get scared at the explosive anger that comes out when stuff like this happens.

He has *NEVER* given me the impression that he would hurt me in any way. He has never so much as raised his voice at me. I am not scared *of* him. But sometimes his behavior makes me really anxious.

He talks about how these insurance CEOs deserve to be killed and how it's all corrupt and we should burn it all to the ground etc. And when hes venting, he can be very expressive and loud. Again, none of this is directed AT me, but I tend to bare witness to it.

I am someone who is very uncomfortable around anger. If someone around me is angry, I'm anxious. Regardless of whether it has anything to do with me. I pretty much exclusively respond to anger with fawning. Its a hard thing for me to deal with because I am typically a very assertive person.

I know anger is a healthy emotion and his anger has never escalated to violence or anything even close... but I just dont know how to handle it. The idea of him losing access to his meds is really scary to me, for a multitude of reasons. I know that if I didnt have access to my meds I would not be able to function.

Sometimes he scares me
