Chance me + school list help, well-rounded but lack of course rigor
Hi everyone, I’m a CA in-state student trying to build a balanced college list. My top choice is FIT NYC (Fashion Design), but I’m planning realistic backup paths because my parents only want to pay for a top option. I’m considering Business Admin (marketing) or supply chain/operations so I can still work in the fashion industry on the business side.
Demographics
- Location: California (Bay Area), competitive public high school
- Race/gender: Asian, female
- Hooks: none
- Discipline: no D/Fs
Intended major
- Business Administration (possibly marketing)
- Supply chain / operations / business + tech
- For Cal Poly: Business Admin vs Industrial Technology & Packaging (ITP)
Academics
- CSU/UC unweighted GPA (10–11): 3.65
- CSU/UC weighted GPA (10–11): 3.95
- Cal Poly SLO GPA (9–11; a–g only; no +/-): ~3.79 (maybe ~3.85 if DE course counts as weighted)
Course rigor
- APs: AP English Language, AP Chinese; planning AP Stats senior year
- Honors: English 9H, 10H
- Math: through Precalculus
- Science: 3 years
Testing (for context)
- SAT: 1450 / 1460 (superscore)
Extracurriculars (details)
- Cheerleading: 3 years including senior year(1 year competition, 2 sideline)
- Marching band: 1 year
- Winter percussion: 2 years
- Leadership class (senior year)
- volunteer in a nonprofit for music performance throughout highschool
Senior year schedule (planned)
- AP Stats, No science
What I’m asking
- Chance me for Cal Poly SLO: Business Administration and Industrial Technology & Packaging (ITP) / business-tech-ish options
- Any out-of-state schools that are realistic and not insanely expensive (ideally with merit aid)?
- What CA schools (UC/CSU) fit me as matches/safeties for business/supply chain?
Thanks for any advice—really appreciate help building a balanced list.
