Conservative Management?

Anyone have experience with Conservative Management?

My husband is 73, diabetic, BKA (below knee Amputee) and at Stage 3B. Nephrologist says it will probably be for five years or more before he might need dialysis.

Conservative Management as an Alternative
For some older patients with advanced chronic kidney disease, healthcare teams may recommend Conservative Kidney Management (CM) instead of dialysis. This pathway focuses on managing symptoms, diet, and comfort without the physical toll of dialysis. Median survival on CM ranges widely (from 1 to 45 months), but it is often a preferred option for maintaining quality of life in advanced age.
