Blue Bins on Buchanan

Sorry if this has been posted already, but does anyone know why they took away the blue recycle bins on Buchanan street? Were they just not getting used? Always thought it was weird they were only there and not in other parts of the centre.

I'd usually take a bottle or two with my and drop them in on my way to work. Try and keep the recycling at home from piling up too bad, since that only gets collected every 16 days (at best) but now I guess I have no choice.
