Disconnecting from online games

Hey everyone! I am completely new to PC gaming and steam. I got majorly lucky and was able to get a 2TB steam machine that I am using as an easy entry PC.

I have lots of friends who love to play “friend slop” games and we have been mostly successful but last night in particular either myself or my friends kept getting kicked from each others lobbies on gamble with friends, mechanics chameleon, and peak.

I have had zero issues with Overwatch 2 though and none of us have ever had issues with ethernet so I don’t believe that is a factor.

My question is: Is this kind of thing normal for smaller indie type games or is this possibly an issue on my end with which version of proton I am using or the fact I am on a Linux based computer vs their Microsoft based PC’s?

I am hoping it was just a bad night for some reason but being my first night on it was a huge bummer to never make it more than 10 minutes in before I got booted or when I hosted multiple friends would get booted.
