Discord sucks and so does r/discordapp. Need thoughts on a phone number issue and terrible support :/

Hey all, kinda' desperate here and looking for any insight. :/ Tried posting on r/discordapp and they said my post was violating rules. So hopefully I can get some feedback here.

The situation: I have two active Discord accounts, neither with a phone number attached. When I try to verify my number (needed to get into a server that requires it), I get "This phone number is unable to be associated with this account." Turns out the number is already verified on some other account.

I tried going to the login page, hitting "Forgot Password" and using the phone number instead of email... I get sent an SMS code, which confirms the number really is tied to some Discord account, but entering that code doesn't log me in, it just tells me the actual password reset link has been sent to an email address. And that email never arrives, at any address I have access to, including an old one I checked as a long shot. So I'm stuck. I can prove the number is linked to an account through the SMS step, but I have no way to get into that account, or even find out what the email attached to it is.

What support keeps telling me: the only way to remove the number is for the request to come from the email tied to that account. Since I don't have access to that email and have no way of identifying it, this leaves me with genuinely no path to ever using my own phone number on Discord again, unless I get a new phone number entirely, which isn't something I'm willing or able to do for a Discord verification requirement.

I've been going back and forth with support for weeks now, provided video verification of ownership of the number and both my accounts, explicitly asked for this to be escalated to a security or fraud team since it seems like a legitimate case of an account holding a number that isn't the account holder's, and keep getting the same "we understand your frustration, but the policy is the policy" response, just reworded each time.

What I'm looking for:

• Has anyone actually gotten a phone number successfully removed or unlocked from an account they don't control?
• Is there a specific escalation path, contact, or way of phrasing a request that gets past frontline support and to someone with actual authority here?
• Anyone know if Discord has a trust and safety or privacy specific contact separate from general support?
• I dunno maybe just some way to stop screaming into the void with Discord support.
