For those with vertical monitors, do you prefer 24 or 27 inch?

I'm going to order a monitor and use it as a vertical next to my 27 inch monitor. I'm wondering if 27 inches is too tall or not? I've seen some good deals with 27 inch monitors but i'm worried that it's too tall. What are your thoughts? I'm using a karlby countertop if that helps.
