Shop didn’t replace rear rotors, just pads, is that ok?

I’ve got a 2015 3500 dually that I use for my camper and that’s about it. I went in to get my brakes done and was expecting to get rear rotors and pads put on. The shop didn’t replace the rear rotors, only the pads and made note that the rotors should be replaced next time. Is that acceptable or were they just trying to rush me out of there because I was waiting in the lobby? Will the brakes perform ok without new rotors?
