WIBTA if I text my in-laws explaining what an emergency is?

My last post got cut off for some reason! I'm sorry! Trying again. I'm using my normal account instead of throwaway because I don't care if my husband's family sees this.

My (F44) husband's (M45) father texted me last night at midnight telling me he was in desperate need to get a hold of my husband because there was an emergency. He had tried calling my husband several times, but because it was midnight, he was asleep in bed. (I tend to stay up a couple hours later than my husband, prepping his lunch for the next day and tidying up the house)

My husband owns his own business and along with his crew of 5 employees has been killing himself the last couple weeks in particular with the heat wave. He's been working outside or in attics almost exclusively, and has come home exhausted from the long hours in the heat and he needs all the sleep he can get. He is up at the crack of dawn and works late so I do not like to disturb his sleep.

My FIL currently has a very treatable type of cancer, and since it was caught very early, chemo has been relatively mild and the prognosis is extremely good. However, it is a medical condition and he said it was an emergency so I felt like I should wake up my husband immediately and let him know to get in contact with his dad.

He immediately tried calling his father multiple times with no answer. Then he noticed that he had several missed calls from one of his brothers. He called his brother back and his brother explained his car broke down. There was no emergency. He had no idea why his dad even called on his behalf.

My husband wound up not being able to go back to sleep for a long time after that. So WIBTA if I text his dad and explain that an emergency means someone's in the hospital, been in an accident or something else life threatening has happened? This is not the first time something similar has happened.
