Found out what my best friend has been telling people and I don't know what to do.

Sorry in advance because this is probably gonna be kinda long. I've been sitting on this for a few months now and I honestly don't know what to do anymore.

I a 21, non-binary person have been friends with a 21 year old girl, we'll call her Becky for about 3 and a half years. We've been through a LOT together and I've always considered her one of my best friends.
A few months ago Becky was living with another friend, we'll call her Sam. While Sam was away there ended up being a fire at the apartment and everything kinda blew up after that. During all of the drama Sam's sister ended up telling me that Becky had apparently been talking sh*t about me for months to some of her friends and her sister.

Apparently Becky was telling people I didn't do enough for her dad while he was in jail. She was saying I never came to visit enough and that I wasn't sending enough money so everything fell on her. The thing is I lived over an hour away. I still visited when I could and I sent money whenever I was able to, but I couldn't realistically be there all the time. Then I found out she was saying I tried to steal her hedgehog which honestly made no sense to me. A while ago she had gotten kicked out of her family home because her dad and his ex broke up and the ex didn’t want her there anymore. So Sam had offered to have Becky come live with her while she was trying to figure everything out. So I OFFERED to keep him until she tried to find somewhere to live. She agreed to it. I wasn't trying to take her pet, I was literally just trying to help.

She also told people I barely did anything for her sister's 21st birthday which really hurt because I know that's not true. I offered to have everyone come to my city because there's more to do here. I bought all the alcohol, decorated my apartment with the theme her sister wanted, bought the cake she wanted, and drove everyone around all weekend. Becky has apparently been telling people that she paid for everything and I barely helped. The only thing she really paid for herself was when we went out to a couple bars, and even then I offered to pay but she said she'd already saved up for it.
What hurts even more is everything we've been through together.

Almost two years ago Becky's boyfriend was killed in a car accident. When we got to the hospital I stayed there with her the whole time. I held her while she cried, helped pay for hotel rooms so we could stay nearby, and after everything happened my husband and I even offered to let her stay with us for a while so she wouldn't have to go through everything alone. We just wanted to help her however we could. I'm not saying she owes me a thank you because I helped her. I'd do those things again for someone I care about. But hearing that she's apparently been telling people I never do enough honestly broke me. It makes me wonder if any of the things I've done for her even mattered because she's never once acknowledged any of it.

I also used to drive her around a lot (not as much anymore since I moved away but it’s still pretty often) because she has seizures and can't drive. I want to make it clear that I'm NOT upset that she has seizures. I know that's something she can't control and I've never minded helping her. What bothers me is that over time it's stopped feeling like she's asking me for a favor and started feeling like she just expects it. A lot of the time she doesn't even ask anymore, she just assumes I'm gonna drive. My husband and I are lucky because his parents help us with gas, but it's still my time, my car, oil changes, repairs, all of that. I don't expect her to pay me every time, but sometimes it would've been nice if she at least offered to help out or even just asked instead of assuming.

After I found out all of this I confronted Becky. I told her that if I had actually done something wrong I genuinely wanted her to tell me because I'm the type of person who would rather have an uncomfortable conversation than have someone secretly hate me. If I'm doing something wrong I want to know so I can fix it.

She denied saying any of it. Something that's making this even harder is that everything I heard came from Sam's sister. Becky never admitted to any of it, so I don't have proof besides what I was told. I also know rumors can get twisted, so I've really tried to keep an open mind. But hearing similar things from more than one person has made it hard to just brush it off.

At the same time, I've seen how Becky handles situations like this. After the fire happened, Sam and her family were upset with Becky because the fire started while Becky was at the apartment. Becky felt like she didn't owe anyone an apology because it was an accident, and after everything happened she pretty much cut Sam and her whole family out of her life.

That's part of why I'm struggling so much. I honestly feel like if the roles were reversed and Becky heard from multiple people that I had been talking badly about her, she probably would've dropped me without giving me much of a chance to explain. Meanwhile I've spent months trying to give her the benefit of the doubt and pretending everything is normal because I don't want to lose someone who's been such a big part of my life.

The only thing she actually admitted being upset about was that I moved away. When we first became friends I actually lived with her family for a while because I needed somewhere to stay, and that's how we got so close. I understand why she was hurt when I moved, but I didn't move so I could get away from her I moved because I had just gotten married and I wanted to live with my husband, and we wanted to leave our hometown because it honestly wasn't a very accepting place. People constantly made comments about me being non-binary, so moving was the best decision for us.
This whole thing happened a few months ago and I've basically just acted like everything is normal because I honestly don't know what else to do. We've been friends for years. Her family feels like my family at this point, and that's what's making this so hard.

If you made it this far, thank you. I really appreciate any advice. And I’m sorry if the story was a little jumbled it’s a lot and kind of hard to word because there is a lot to the whole situation.
