Is it normal to be promoted up a class first day?

Hello! By some miracle I was able to register for basic1 in time and yesterday was my first class! We learned everything within the first 15 ish minutes for a 30 minute class, and near the end of the class, our teacher said that our group (it was only 3 people including me) was going to be joining basic2 next week. She taught us scooter pushes right before class ended since we were told not to march anymore. Is this normal? I thought we were supposed to take the full 6 weeks to learn all the skills !🦑
