[Hobby/Rev-share] Looking for a 3D Artist & Creative Partner for a Low-Poly Unity Game

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a 3D artist/animator to join me on an indie game project called "Prey No More."

The core idea is simple: flip the traditional hunting fantasy around. Instead of playing the hunter, you play as the prey. The game explores what happens when the hunted fights back. You'll play as an anthropomorphic deer, hunting the hunters.

The game is being developed in Unity with a low-poly art style. I'm looking for someone who can help create the visual identity of the game through:

  • 3D character models
  • Environment assets
  • Props
  • Animations
  • General art direction

However, I'm not looking for someone who just receives a list of assets and produces them. I'm looking for a creative partner.

The ideal person is someone who:

  • Wants to help shape the game's direction
  • Enjoys contributing ideas and challenging decisions
  • Thinks about the player experience, not just individual assets
  • Wants to take ownership of the visual side of the project
  • Is interested in building something long-term

My goal is to create a game with real potential, and I want to work with someone who is invested in making the best version of it possible.

About me

In my day-to-day job I'm in product management after a 10 year stint of software engineering and team leading. I've worked in software for many years and have experience turning ideas into products, managing scope, and building things iteratively. Next to my day-to-day job, I'm the proud owner of a small company that will carry the legal weight of the project. Through this company I will handle the programming, game design direction, project management, and business side.

What I'm looking for

Ideally:

  • Experience with Blender (or similar tools compatible with Unity3D)
  • Experience creating game-ready assets
  • Understanding of Unity pipelines
  • Interest/experience in animation is a very big plus
  • Ability to think creatively and independently

Compensation

This is a "long-term" collaboration with a revenue-share/equity-style approach rather than traditional freelance work. The goal is that contributors who invest their time and expertise share in the success if the game succeeds.

I'm looking for someone who sees this as more than "making some assets". Basically someone who wants to help build a game.

If this sounds interesting, send me a message with ideally:

  • Your portfolio
  • Your experience with game development
  • What kind of role you enjoy taking in projects
  • How much time you could realistically dedicate

Depending on how much you'll be able to contribute, I'm more than happy to have you earn a significant portion of pending revenue. We'll formalize things to guarantee mutual happiness and a fair agreement overall.

Thanks!
