Parent sending child to school with audio recording device

I’m doing my first Summer route as an attendant on a SPED run. This past year I was a regular ed driver and don’t have experience with this new situation.

My driver and I have learned from the child’s school that their parent has been secretly sending their child to school with an audio recording device hidden in their backpack.

We don’t discuss anything inappropriate. We are professional. I’m not concerned about that.
My concerns primarily revolve around the privacy of our other students, and even my own rights to privacy.

I believe I am in a two-party consent state, but I’m still new to this state and looking into it.

I understand wanting the best for your child and their safety, but I do not believe that gives you the right to violate the privacy of others.

My district already has cameras and audio recording equipped all over the bus. Having a third party secretly recording gives me bad feelings.

Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this?
