This game is good af when you don't have someone on Reddit in your ear talking about "vibes" being off
Not sure why the Reddit algorithm was pushing so many negative posts about Groove to my feed, but it felt like for the first week all I was seeing were people talking about how the series lost its soul and that they "could tell" it was rushed...
First, every game in the series has some songs that are less catchy or less memorable, this isn't unique to Groove.
Second, Ko Takeuchi's art style has changed over the years. If you're a fan of WarioWare, this has been apparent since Gold when there was a clear shift in art direction. It's different, and might not be everyone's favorite, but it still has charm.
Third, while I do wish more remixes had gotten a visual theme (my main criticism of the game) this is by no means a dealbreaker - this is still very much Rhythm Heaven.
I'm super happy to see this game selling well (best launch in the series history apparently) and hope this is a good sign we'll someday get another. There are some major gems in this one!
Brolly Good Show
Disc Dog
Crab Snacks
Fruit Flex
Backup Spotlight
Lightning Bolting
Sweeper Star
Easy A
I'm having a ball with this personally.
