For 1099 non O/O: Is it better to pay for your own fuel?

Hi all, my husband and I have a choice between two 1099 payscales right now. One is 40% of the load but the fuel is paid for, and one is 60% of the load but the fuel is out of your own pocket, but includes a fuel surcharge and discount programs.

I know the other pitfalls that come with 1099 already and that’s not as big an issue for us, we would just like to know if being able to write it off on your taxes is a big enough benefit to offset the cost in the first place.
