Lukebakio and the NFL

I’m the usmnt vs Belgium game, I was most worried when Lukebakio recieved the ball. The man is huge, agile, and quick on his feet.

If Lukebakio had been born in the USA, he is playing American football.

I know guys, I’ve eye rolled at every “well if we just had our best athlete play soccer in the US, then we would be way more competitive” post.

But, honestly, the most talented and successful running backs, defensive backs and corners in the NFL had grown up in Western Europe, they’d look like Lukebakio and we are immediately more competitive. I know it is more complicated and nuanced than one simple dimension, but I, for one, think the current system of pay-to-play in a convoluted, oversaturated club, college, semi pro system is the worst a developmental system can get.
