How have I never watched this?! It is so good!

How have I gone so many years without watching this?! I have been on a binge for the past week or so. Watched all seasons and the film. This is probably one of my favorite TV shows!

I feel that it may have been overshadowed by shows like "Vikings" and "Game of Thrones". Whenever I saw it on Netflix, I always kinda thought "Oh its a "Vikings" wannabe knock off show". How wrong was I!

The characters are what really got me hooked. Uhtred was a great lead character, but for me it was the supporting cast that made the show/film. Finan and Sihtric are by far my all time favorites. Thier loyalty to Uhtred was pretty much unwavering. Whenever they got into a bind, my heart was racing lol.

I think the death that hit me the most was Osferth :(

After starting as a scared bastard son, he grew into a strong and faithful warrior. The way he cried out and panicked as Finan held him as he died hit me so hard!

Aldhelm was also a great character. He stuck by Uhtred opposing King Edward when he knew the King was wrong. Aldhelm deserved more than the noose :(

All in all, a great experience. Loved the show and the movie.
