good GPU for nanopore basecalling? rtx 5080?

I'm a PhD student who's been tasked with building a workstation for a new MinION we'll be purchasing in the lab. An RTX 5090 is unfortunately out of our budget, so I'm looking at more mid-range options.

Does anyone have experience using an RTX 5080 for basecalling? Its available in my country, and based on benchmarks , it seems to offer a very good bang for a buck.

Im also looking into RTX 5070 Ti
