AIO for asking my friends if they took my Adderall

👥 friendship

I (22F) recently started taking Adderall for my ADHD, a move which has completely changed my life. I don't struggle with racing thoughts or lack of motivation anymore. I also don't feel as depressed. This medication was long overdue and I am so happy that I am finally on it. I take two pills a day in the morning and keep the pill bottle next to my bed.

Since it's summer, I live with my folks and my friends come by to hang out often. Other than them, I don't have many guests. We watch Love Island and so I'll name them Love Island names to keep this anonymous-- Aniya (21F), Caleb (21M), and Melanie (22F).

Three days ago, I went to take my pill and realized the bottle is close to empty. I have 2.5 dose left, or five pills. This doesn't make sense. I'm issued 30 pills per bottle, which should last me 15 days if I take 2 everyday. It is not close to the end of 15 days. I asked my parents and they didn't know what happened. I grew confused. Either I had accidentally been taking more than I was supposed to, or something was wrong.

Paranoia began to seep in. I just had my friends over to my place. Could one of them had taken some of my medicine?

Next time we hung out, I asked them as politely as I could if any of them had "tried" my medicine. I know some treat Adderall as a recreation drug. Melanie asked me if I meant to ask had they "stolen" my medicine. I said I didn't want to insinuate that they would do such a thing with malicious purposes and perhaps this was a silly mistake. I explained how I'm missing several pills, and how important my medicine is to me. But once Melanie said stolen, Aniya and Caleb also grew very defensive and frustrated that I would accuse them of doing such a thing. The conversation ended in this weird, unresolved place and I don't know where I stand with them anymore.

I still haven't figured out what's going on. The idea of someone in my life messing with my medication is really screwing with my head, and I don't know what to do.
