Near-future dystopian WIP: does it make you want to read more?

Looking to understand 1) if I kept your interest, 2) where I lost it if you were once interested at all, and 3) genuinely anything else you’d like to call out.

This is the secondary arc to my story, and I’m not sure if it’s compelling enough a way to explain how the world works.

Small context: you’re following two boys trying to provide for themselves in a world that’s actively falling apart.
