Freshers heading to VIT-AP (Aug 2026) — what does the hostel actually provide vs what should we carry?

I'm an incoming B.Tech CSE fresher, joining VIT-AP in August 2026. I've been allotted a 2-bed non-AC room and I'm trying to pack smart instead of overpacking or underpacking.

For those already staying in the hostel (especially non-AC blocks), could you help me out with:

**What the hostel already provides:**

- Furniture (cot, table, chair, cupboard) — confirmed, but is the mattress included or do we need to buy one from the provision store?

- Fan/lighting situation in non-AC rooms?

- Any basic bathroom fittings (bucket, mug) or do we buy those on campus?

**What we need to bring ourselves:**

- Bedding (pillow, bedsheet, blanket) — buy locally or bring from home?

- Study essentials — desk lamp, extension boards, extra storage?

- Given Amaravati's heat, any non-AC room specific must-haves (personal fan, cooling mats, etc.)?

- Daily use items people forget but end up needing urgently in the first week?

- Any documents/photocopies I should carry multiple sets of for hostel check-in?

Would really appreciate a no-BS packing list from seniors who've actually lived through the first week — trying to avoid last-minute panic buying once I land in Amaravati.
