Layla gets more useful at higher levels?

Hi, new player question here.. on the latest banner i did 30 pulls and got both Kianshit and Layla.. I can see the usefulness of the KIanshir at lv48, following the build guide on gamewith.net but Layla doesn't seem too good yet.. she seems to be quite squishy and i think at the moment only gets the alert skill if you use that aoe attack she has.. does she get better at higher levels or am i just using her wrong?
