Looking to migrate to Linux

Hi im using Windows 11 for Years now and its really annoying to me. I am buying a new PC in a month and wondered if i should maybe switch to Linux. I use my PC most of the time to play videogames or watch yt videos and i do some game dev sometimes.

My problem is that i heard that much software or games doesnt work on Linux. Is this just a myth or is this really a problem. Is there maybe a distro what doesnt have this problem.

Im grateful for any advice
