What's actually working for you to get cited by AI?

There's so much noise right now. Everyone's got a "do this, do this" list, but half of it feels like recycled SEO advice with an AEO label slapped on.

I work with clients and I'm testing AEO stuff myself, so I'm trying to cut through the theory and see what's actually moving the needle for real people.

If you've gotten mentioned or cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, whatever, I'd love to know:

• What did you actually do that you think caused it?
• Which platform picked you up first?
• Was it content structure, schema, getting mentioned on third-party sites, Reddit/forum presence, something else?
• Anything you expected to work that didn't?

Not looking for the generic checklist. Just curious!
