I know this might seem a little silly or stupid, might be a mix of both.

Frequently when I talk with my mother and father about the possibility of me getting jaw surgery due to my recessed mandible and chin they frequently throw around the “but Allah created you in the best way possible! If you change the way that Allah created you then Allah might make it backfire on you! Well do you remember the story of [completely random guy that got botched on a completely different procedure that’s way more experimental than mine]”. And you know what’s shocking? I’m actually recessed and it has been paining me for my whole life yet they keep on throwing it under the rug with this make-belief stories on how I’ll get botched if I get it cause I’m changing how “Allah created me” (btw the procedures are a BSSO and a genioplasty and I can send anyone here the xray if you guys want it)
