Noctua Build Plan
I am planning for a full Noctua (edition) build, as follows:
- CPU: Ryzen 9 9950X3D
- GPU: ASUS RTX 5080 OC Noctua Edition
- MB: ASUS ROG Crosshair Hero X870E
- AIO: Noctua NL-LC1-42
- RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 2x32GB 6000MHz
- PSU: Seasonic Prime TW1600 Noctua Edition
- Case: Antec Flux Pro Noctua Edition
- SSD: Samsung 990 Pro M.2 NVMe 2280 2TB (x2)
Purpose: Hybrid machine for 1. running sim workloads and autonomous robotics model inference (training happens on a computing cluster, not on this machine), and 2. Occasional High-end gaming.
One SSD gets ubuntu, the other gets windows.
Questions:
- In theory the AIO should fit in the Antex Flux Pro as per specifications. But anyone have experience testing this?
- Not sure about the Samsung SSDs. Any SSDs that are better in slot in terms of performance (r/w speed) but similar price range?
- General thoughts on the parts list and suggestions for changes? Assume wiggle room in the budget but not to the extent of “just get a 5090”
- Any good-to-knows when working specifically with the set of components? (E.g. fan placement, air flow, cable management, PSU wiring, etc) Any extra gadgets that are nice to have?
