[NYC, BROOKLYN] Alt/Indie Project Seeking Bass, Drums, and Lead Guitar for Live Band & Songwriting
Hey everyone, I’m currently living in Brooklyn, NY and I'm looking to build a tight, dedicated 4-piece live lineup (Bassist, Drummer, Lead Guitarist) for upcoming shows and to collaborate on writing new material. Rehearsals will be based in Brooklyn.
I have a clear sonic vision and a DIY engine: I have an EP out and a recent single called "No Keys to the Kingdom." The current tracks are fully written, mixed, and mastered, so the immediate goal is to get these gig-ready while working on the next batch of tunes.
My Influences & Aesthetic:
- The Modern Wave: Fontaines D.C., Wunderhorse, Brigitte Calls Me Baby, Radio Free Alice.
- The Foundations: The Smiths (melodic, textural guitar work), The Cure, Pixies, Echo & the Bunnymen.
- Indie / Britpop Energy: The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, and 90s UK guitar-pop.
Who I’m Looking For:
- Drummer: Someone who can lock into a driving, urgent pocket but knows when to let the songs breathe.
- Bassist: Someone who can lock into a heavy, driving root-note groove when the song needs an anchor, but also understands how to play melodically (think Peter Hook or Andy Rourke vibes) when the space opens up.
- Lead Guitarist: A player who understands texturing, space, and effects (chorus, delay, precise layering) over virtuosic shredding. Johnny Marr disciples welcome.
- General: Professional attitude, reliable gear, and a desire to rehearse efficiently. Age-flexible, but looking for folks ready to hit the ground running.
Feel free to message me privately right here on Reddit or start a chat! When you reach out, please include a quick intro about yourself, a link to any audio/video of your playing, and 2 or 3 records you’ve been spinning on repeat lately.
