PSLF count deducted 24 months
I have been in the SAVE forced forbearance since mid-2024, not making payments. Last month I changed to a new income based plan, concerned about this July 1 deadline. New payments said $50 a month, great, but a few weeks later they upped it to around $500 a month.
In June I had a 24 month higher count for PSLF, now it says I’m at 74 months of qualifying payments. Has anyone else had their counts changed on them recently?
I’m banking on buyback for all the months I’ve been in public service, the past 8 years, regardless of what sort of forced forbearance (court case BS and COVID pause) that was happening to me.
Is it up to me to know the count is off and once I get to 10 years submit the buyback request and pray it works? It appears I’ll pay my balance before I reach 120 months according to their updated count.
How many of us are in this boat? Enough for a class action suit?
