Being a neet as a man is way harder than being a neet as a woman
Let me be clear I am not a misogynist or anything like that. Throughout all the girls i have met in my life a lot of them were good people ( ofc not all, because not everyone is a good person).
I think being a neet as a girl and a guy is completely different and it's way worse if you are a man.
I have a lot of female cousins ( at least 12). What i have seen is that none of them have to worry about getting a job or being financially independent. A lot of them have boyfriends and two are even married. If they did want to build their career or get a job then they are fully encouraged and that only increases their value in society and in dating Market because now they don't have to settle for men who make less than them. On the other hand if a man can't get a job or doesn't want to get a job, then he's considered a loser and no one will settle for him unless he's from a rich family, otherwise he will spend his life alone. This seems to me like double standards.Women are hypergamous and it makes sense , if I was a woman why would I settle for less when I have better options.
These double standards are not there just for dating. I have seen it in academics as well .I studied at Delhi University ( although I dropped out in second year because of my ocd). Here in Delhi University there are girls only colleges but boys only colleges don't exist. Still majority of the colleges are for both boys and girls. Because of this girls have almost twice as many seats as compared to boys in Delhi University. In my college ( hansraj college) half the students were boys and half were girls, even though in my class there were more girls than boys. This is not the only thing. There's also this thing called single girl child quota because of which seats of a course are reserved for girls only. All of these things were good in the past to increase women's participation in academics but now we have moved way past that time. But yeah we still have these double standards.
The double standards are not just in dating or career, they exist in lifestyle and behaviour as well. For example it's completely normal for a woman to be wearing mens clothes but the visa versa is not normal at all ( unless you wanna be called gay or trans) but you are definitely not straight if you do that. If a woman acts like a man then she's brave but if a man acts like a woman then he's gay. And I think I don't even have to talk about double standards on sexual assaults.
I think women get to play both the cards of an independent girl boss and a vulnerable person depending on which one is more useful for the situation.
