Why isn’t anyone concerned with the state of university and higher education right now? Especially in the UK?

A lot of unis are all losing funds and set to close down in the near future, departments closing, mass staff job loss, everyone is using AI and it’s not being regulated. This is the slow death of higher education and intellectualism. And the fact that nothings really being done about it almost makes it feel intentional.
