Too old to start?

I'm 36, been doing mobile service work for the last 8 years for a pool company. I specialize in electronic systems and repair, automation etc. In theory appliance repair would be a perfect job but being inside people's houses all the time sounds like hell.

2-year degree in computer science, which is mostly electrical fundamentals. My high school was entirely centered around industrial production and automation.

I can read blueprints and wiring diagrams with ease.

The only thing that I don't have a lot of knowledge on is building codes, obviously I'm familiar with the stuff I run into in my specific corner, our company also does brand new builds and I do a lot of the wiring post-panel.

Not really worried about taking a pay cut getting started, pretty confident I could sleep through 90% of the classroom side of the program and crush the test. Not even too concerned about being relegated to bitch work for a few years, I learn fast and I don't think it would take long to prove my value in other areas.

Just concerned that I completely missed the mark, and trying to get into it with just result in me going mostly nowhere due to my age.

And no idea where to get started if I even decided to pursue this
