Scheduled for gastric bypass next month but seriously considering canceling it to try glp1 instead

I am supposed to get a gastric bypass next month but i am suddenly having major second thoughts after reading up on glp1s. The closer the surgery date gets the more nervous i feel about permanently altering my stomach. I am really interested in trying the peptide route first, but it is a massive decision to just cancel a surgery i have been planning and prepping for over the last few months.

For those of you who were on the fence between bariatric surgery and taking glp1s, what made you finally choose the medication? Did anyone here actually cancel a scheduled surgery to try this instead?
