Severe acid reflux before sleeve

I have severe acid reflux daily, but the gastric sleeve is significantly cheaper. I was not able to get insurance to approve in the US, so I’m going to be traveling to Mexico for the procedure (Mexico Bariatric center) I’m already just about paid but after budgeting I decided to switch from my original plan to get the bypass to sleeve. The difference is around 2k, and I’ve been working my absolute ass off to pay it down. My question is, am I making a mistake? Will it make my acid reflux worse? I do want bypass but it would take me around 5 more months of working overtime just to achieve that and I’m extremely burnt out at this point. Does anyone have experience with getting the sleeve despite persistent reflux? Any advice? Thank you!
