Seeking Melbourne Dating Scene Advise - Where do I find Straight Masc Acting Gay Men

I was recently reading several posts under this sub reddit regarding the dating scene in Melbourne . All of them said that the dating scene when it comes to gay men in melbourne is really terrible and everyone just wants to hookup lol.

I thought it was just me and thought that I was just having a difficult time finding a guy who likes me. I was using hinge and tinder mostly , and no one really talks honestly. Also, it's already given that most experience I have encountered in grindr is pretty much guys wanting to just have sex. Hence, a few weeks ago, I finally deleted my dating apps as it appears that it's not really working.

People say that instead of dating apps, I just need to join social circles, events, clubs or community places, then build friendships and then go from there.

The thing about me, I am into guys/men who are straight acting , masc and are open to dating and have long term relationship with another guy like myself. I'm just unsure where to find these guys , as most of them hide as discreet in Grindr lol. 😂. Like where do you even find them in the Melbourne scene where you can meet them in a social event, and then go from there . I've met both of my exes from grindr and tinder respectively. Also, I'm not sure if these type of guys go to yah yahs, circuit or the peel lol .

Anyways, it would be awesome if anyone has advice.
