From nothing to --> Schoolassistant --> PH --> Primary teacher
General info: (EU passport/ above 27 years old)
Hello everyone. I am sorry but I am currently trying to come up with what I want to do with my life so I am looking for some feedback.
Essentially I am finishing up a master next year and like every new graduate in the Europe and the wider world things aren't exactly looking rosy.
So I have thought about some ways to actually get a decent life. One of them has been to become a primary school teacher in a rural location in Switzerland.
This is not something I can immediately realize since after slacking off from using german I am probably merely at a B2 level at the moment and would probably need a couple of months to bounce back to C1. Considering that all PH require the students to have C2 it would in the best case scenario take me another year after bouncing back to my base level german to reach a point where I can pass Göthe C2 (especially the writting part). Also getting used to Swiss-german would probably also take some time.
So my idea is to around next spring to apply for some positions as "schoolassistant" and then use that position to both get some experience within the field and naturally improve my swiss-german game.
The question that I have regarding this "idea" I dont know if this can even be called a plan for now

Is the lack of teachers in Switzerland actually real? I have seen this both in my own country and in germany the fact that labor shortage is the quentsential real life version of the saying "lies, lies and statistics". Especially in my own country they will talk about the teacher shortage while young teachers still having issues finding employment.

My CV really is less than stellar. How willing are rural locations to accept someone as a schoolassistant. The question can also be framed like this: what will be more influential my shitty cv or the rural schools and their issue attracting applicants.

Would a school be willing to bite if I told them about my ambition to take "berufbegleitende ausbildung" as a primary teacher? I even got a couple of things going for me since I could likely get away with taking fewer ECTS since some of them from my previous degrees are somewhat related to the teaching field.

What are your thoughts. Am I stupid.

What is the housing and living situation in the german speaking part of rural Switzerland? I come from a rural area myself and despite the area significantly bleeding young people.... renting feels like they think they are some hip middle sized city.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
