DAP recommendations with good panning?

Please take into account that I'm a complete newbie, so maybe panning isn't the right word for it idk? I am hearing impaired so I've been relying on bluetooth headphones that I am able to adjust the left and right audio via an app on my phone. Can anybody advise DAPs that offer good settings for this?

I am wanting to ditch depending on my phone and paying for streaming subscriptions, but I'm finding all the tech speak confusing and reviews are very mixed.

Other things I am looking for:

- Good battery life

- Gapless playback (ideal, but not a complete deal breaker)

- Buttons preferred over touchscreen but depends on the device

- Not super expensive

- I'm not fussed about using bluetooth if there is something that offers the above with wired

Thanks 😊
