Potential Sighting

Time: 12th, July. 11PM
Location: Rotorua, New Zealand

Hi there, I want to start this off by saying I did not believe in any of this but I am quite shook and have questions, hoping someone has answers.

It's around 11:pm, and I'm relaxing in my spa pool, open sky, admiring. no clouds, nothing. besides the occasional satellite and plane. I glance down for maybe all of 3 seconds, and this horrible red light practically illuminates the ENTIRE neighborhood. as if someone had gotten the brightest LED flashlight possible, amplified it by thousands, put it in the sky, aimed down at us and put a red filter on it. when I look back up at the sky there's a perfect circle. bright red. hurling through the sky and at a certain point it vanishes, along with the red light.

I'm hoping someone can tell me what the fuck this is, a big weird government experiment? cause honestly, I'm shit scared I saw something I wasn't meant to see.
