Advice for a new fan ?

I am currently watching the Netflix series and I reached the middle of season 2, and I am loving the story so far.

I heard that the shows haven't done the books any justice, but my true intention is to get the best experience out the game The Witcher 3, so I heard the Netflix series would be a good introduction to the world.

Now I saw the gameplay of the Witcher3 and I think its a bit Junky, but I cant say for sure until I play it.

What do you think its the best approach ? I am excited to start the witcher 3 and also saw the trailer for the coming game the witcher 4 and I think its gorgeous.
