Question about owning a Maine Coone

I used to have a domestic short hair with my ex and when we broke up he kept her.

I don’t need to tell you that picking up a kitty leaves strands of hair all over your clothes and when they sit on couches and beds they leave plenty behind too.

I was wondering what it is like with Maine Coones. One would think that they would leave a lot of hair because it’s so thick and long but I have seen conflicting reports.

Can someone who owns an MC tell me their experience with moulting and what to expect when picking them up etc.
